People can score high or low on this survey for many reasons and the results are not definitive. The scale is still in development and comparisons of your boredom levels to other people may not be reliable. If you are experiencing distress and feel you need help or support please seek professional services. If you are in crisis contact your local hospital. BoredomLab does not provide any kind of Psychological support, counseling, or advice. The content herein is solely for academic, entertainment and informational purposes.

 

BoredomLab supports and respects your right to online privacy and informed consent. We are committed to research ethics and any information you provide will be confidential. This website site is NOT programed to collect any information – such as machine identifiers – on website traffic. Unless you specifically submit information (see section 1 and 2 below) none will be collected.

 

1) The “Participate in our online studies about boredom” and “How bored are you right now” sections of the website will collect only the responses / information you provide and each section will obtain your specific consent before you can submit any responses. Please review these consent and confidentiality statements carefully before proceeding.

 

2) Our “Contact Us Form” requires you to enter some personal information including a name, email address and any other information you include in the contact form. Please be aware that Email is not a secure form of communication, and thus confidentiality cannot be assured. Please do not send sensitive information via the contact form. The information you submit to the contact form is only used to answer your questions or comments about boredom. BoredomLab does not sell or pass on your personal information to any third party. No one associated with BoredomLab will ever contact you by any means except to respond to your questions, such contact will be limited strictly to responding to your question. None of the information submitted on the boredom survey is passed on to any third party.
